After graduating in information sciences from Udine university and gaining a master’s degree from the University of Houston, Texas, Stefano Gallucci became managing director of the European division of Singular ID Ltd (Singapore), a nanotechnology start-up nominated by Redherring as one of the top 100 start-ups in Asia; it is active in the sectors of anti-counterfeiting for the sectors of aerospace, nutrition, automotive, fashion, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and mechanics in general.
In 1997 he founded a start-up which was then bought by one of the main Italian businesses quoted on the stock exchange.
He was CEO of the subsidiary company until 2002, while his first technological start-up was established in Palo Alto, California, in 1993.
Stefano Gallucci is the CEO and co-founder with Professor Renzo Rosei of QID ( , a start-up in the sector of nanotechnology applied to catalytic materials. With offices and a laboratory in Sincrotone, Trieste, and with its collaboration with the universities of Padua and Trieste, QID is currently making new low-cost materials to substitute the precious metals (platinum, rhodium, palladium) used in industrial processes.
